<p>One of the larger trilliums, reaching between 12 and 24 inches. The leaves are usually broad with pointed tips and a good shade of green. Flowers are open, on a short stem above the leaves and may be a bit lax. Color ranges from dark reddish brown to reddish purple. If you don't try to pollinate it you probably won't smell the 'stinking' part. (for the curious, the odor is similar to rotting leaves or stagnate water)</p><p>Please note that these blooming size plants come from many sources. Most come from wholesalers with CITES certificates granting permission to dig in specific areas, a few are from division. These are about the only ways one can purchase blooming size Trilliums at reasonable rates until tissue culture comes of age.</p>
